Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F. Roll out one of the pie crusts on a clean surface and use a 4-inch round cutter to cut out nine circles. Gather the scraps, roll them out again, and cut more rounds. Do the same with the second pie crust.

02

Step 2

Core the apples and slice them crosswise into nine rings so you have one for each pie. In a small bowl, whisk together an egg and a little water to make an egg wash.

03

Step 3

Lay the nine pastry rounds on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush the edges of each round with the egg wash, then top each one with an apple ring and an Oreo cookie. Cover them with the remaining pastry rounds and press the edges firmly to seal.

04

Step 4

Take the leftover cookies and crush them finely, then sprinkle the crumbs over the tops of the pies for a little extra crunch and flavor.

05

Step 5

Pop the pies in the oven and bake for about 18 to 22 minutes, or until they turn a lovely golden brown. Let them cool completely before dusting with a bit of sugar and serving.

Cook's tip

- Make sure to seal the edges of the pies well to prevent filling from leaking out during baking.
- Use a fork to gently press down the edges for a decorative and secure seal.
- Chill the dough before baking to help it stay flaky and prevent shrinking.

Why you’ll love it

These hand pies combine the sweet and tart flavor of apples with the rich, chocolatey crunch of Oreos. They are easy to hold and perfect for snacks or dessert. The flaky crust adds a delightful texture that everyone will enjoy.

Serving ideas

Serve these warm for the best taste, maybe with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce. They also pair nicely with a cup of hot coffee or tea for a cozy treat.

Storage & leftovers

Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days. For longer storage, keep them in the refrigerator and reheat gently in the oven before serving. Avoid microwaving to maintain the crispness of the crust.
